Chapter 1030: The End
Chapter 1030: The End
Han Yu found the days after the battle to be strangely blurry.
Everything that had happened at the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect felt unreal now. The war that had consumed his life for years, the plans and conspiracies he had built with painstaking effort, the endless fear and tension that had followed him every waking moment, all of it had ended within a single afternoon after Lin Mu intervened.
Even now, whenever Han Yu recalled the image of the Bleeding Moon being split apart by one sword strike, he felt as if he had witnessed something beyond mortal comprehension.
The destruction of the Blood Sect happened quickly after that.
Lin Mu did not simply destroy the sect and leave. Instead, he personally oversaw the aftermath, and his efficiency left everyone speechless.
The countless remnants of the Blood Sect that still lingered across the continent were rooted out one after another. Many surrendered immediately after hearing what had happened to the Bleeding Moon and the Patriarch. Others attempted to resist and were crushed effortlessly.
The slaves held by the Blood Sect were investigated carefully.
Those who had been forced into servitude and had remained innocent were freed. Entire groups of people who had lived their lives in chains suddenly found themselves standing beneath open skies with no collars, no seals, and no masters controlling them anymore.
Many broke down crying on the spot.
Others simply stared blankly, unable to process freedom after so many years.
There were also those among the remnants who had committed atrocities too great to forgive. Cultivators who had delighted in slaughter, torture, and cruelty were executed without hesitation. Lin Mu showed absolutely no mercy toward them.
The surviving allies quickly realized something during those days.
Lin Mu was kind.
But he was also utterly uncompromising.
Those who deserved judgment received it swiftly.
The remaining members of the Blood Sect who occupied a gray area between innocence and guilt were imprisoned temporarily while investigations continued.
Han Yu spent much of that time helping restore order across the Blood Continent.
The destruction of the Blood Sect had created a massive vacuum of power. Entire cities and regions no longer knew who ruled them. Fear spread everywhere at first, especially when rumors about an immortal descending began circulating across the continent.
And during all this, Lin Mu learned something else.
The Legacy Disciples of the Blood Sect were still alive.
Han Yu had informed him about them one evening while discussing the hidden safehouses the sect had prepared over the years. He expected the matter would take time to resolve.
Instead, the very next afternoon, all eleven surviving Legacy Disciples stood restrained before him.
Han Yu genuinely had no idea how Lin Mu accomplished it so quickly.
Lady Rot Rose looked utterly disheveled and furious while struggling helplessly against strange restraints wrapped around her body. Daoist Blood Pool’s face remained pale while panic filled his eyes.
Mistress Love Wine had entirely lost her usual seductive composure and looked terrified beyond words. Daoist Snake Face remained silent, though fear could clearly be seen beneath his cold expression.
Even Daoist Swamp Leech looked completely shaken.
Han Yu later learned what had happened.
The Legacy Disciples had been living relatively comfortably in their hidden locations while waiting for the sect to summon them back eventually. Then suddenly, a massive crimson beast descended upon them one by one.
Before they could even react, strange restraints immobilized their bodies and sealed their cultivation completely.
Lady Rot Rose had apparently been the first one captured. She had attempted to resist at once, unleashing all her techniques, but the beast simply ignored them. Shortly afterward Daoist Blood Pool was thrown beside her. Then another disciple arrived. Then another.
By the end of the hour, every surviving Legacy Disciple had been gathered together from all over the continent. And when they finally learned that the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect itself had been eradicated, despair filled their hearts completely.
The greatest shock came when they saw Han Yu.
Or rather, Ju Fan.
At first none of them believed it.
Lady Rot Rose outright called him insane.
Mistress Love Wine stared at him blankly for nearly an entire minute.
Daoist Blood Pool cursed furiously.
But then Han Yu began revealing things only Ju Fan could possibly know. Specific conversations, private dealings, details from missions, secrets shared only among the Legacy Disciples.
One by one, disbelief turned into horror.
"You..." Lady Rot Rose muttered weakly.
"You were Ju Fan all along?"
Han Yu merely looked at her silently.
The realization shattered them more than the destruction of the sect itself. They finally understood that the smiling genius who had risen within the Blood Sect had been their enemy from the very beginning.
Han Yu later asked Lin Mu what he intended to do with them.
"I’ll judge them first," Lin Mu replied calmly.
Then he fed each of them strange pills.
The effects were terrifying.
No matter how much they resisted, every secret they held spilled from their mouths helplessly. They revealed massacres, betrayals, hidden crimes, secret dealings, and every vile act they had committed over the centuries.
Han Yu watched silently while listening.
At some point during the interrogation, Lin Mu suddenly asked them all about a strange token.
None of them recognized it.
Even Han Yu felt confused hearing the question, though Lin Mu did not elaborate further afterward.
The interrogations continued for several hours.
And strangely enough, one person among the Legacy Disciples turned out to be vastly different from the others.
Daoist Swamp Leech.
Han Yu gradually learned the truth about the man.
Daoist Swamp Leech had once been a normal commoner with decent talent and a peaceful disposition. His appearance and twisted cultivation methods had not been his choice at all. His own grand master had forcibly transformed him through horrifying experiments years ago.
The man had lived most of his life trapped beneath fear.
Many of the cruel acts he committed had been forced upon him for survival, as he had been under the control of the Grand Master and then his Master later. But Lin Mu’s actions had killed the Master and thus freeing him totally.
Even Lin Mu acknowledged that morality in the world was rarely simple black and white.
And thus, judgment was passed.
Daoist Blood Pool and Daoist Snake Face were executed instantly. Lin Mu casually moved his fingers and their heads separated from their bodies before they even realized what happened.
Mistress Love Wine and Lady Rot Rose were spared, though freedom was denied to them. Both were placed under restrictive slave seals and forced to aid the reconstruction efforts throughout the continent.
The two women accepted the punishment gratefully.
They had genuinely expected death.
Daoist Swamp Leech broke down crying after being spared. The man repeatedly thanked Lin Mu and Han Yu both while tears streamed down his grotesque face. Even he had secretly hated the sect for years but never possessed the courage or means to resist.
And now it had finally fallen.
Afterward, Han Yu threw himself into helping stabilize the Blood Continent. News of the Blood Sect’s destruction spread rapidly and shook countless powers across the world. During this time, Lin Mu disappeared for several days without explanation.
Han Yu had no idea where he went.
Only later did news spread that the Founder’s Tomb, the so called Birthright Inheritance of the Blood Sect, had been completely destroyed.
Han Yu did not understand why Lin Mu did it initially.
But later, Lin Mu simply told him that he had obtained what he came for.
Apparently something important had been hidden within the tomb all along.
Han Yu did not pry further.
Some things clearly existed beyond his understanding still. What mattered more to him was something else entirely.
The barrier sealing the Blood Continent.
When Han Yu asked whether Lin Mu could deal with it, the immortal agreed. Lin Mu admitted the seal was quite intricate and impressive by mortal standards.
Still, he dismantled it within an hour.
That day, the Blood Continent finally reconnected with the rest of the world after countless years of isolation.
A few months later, Han Yu finally returned to the Twin Leaf Peak Sect.
The reunion became one of the most emotional moments of his life.
Li Mei cried almost immediately after seeing him.
"You fool!" she shouted while hitting his shoulder repeatedly through tears. "Do you know how many years we thought you were dead!?"
Han Yu could only laugh helplessly while apologizing.
The entire sect fell into shock upon learning that Han Yu and the others had survived all these years.
Juniors embraced him tightly.
And the Elders who once found him irritating could barely maintain composure.
And then came the two Fatty Kuis.
Han Yu genuinely had not expected both of them to survive.
The moment they saw him, both fat men burst into tears loudly while clinging onto him from either side.
"Brother Han Yu!"
"You bastard! You vanished for years!"
"WE THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!"
The sight became so absurd even Li Mei started laughing through her tears.
Chitterfang appeared shortly afterward carrying himself proudly.
The fat rat had grown considerably over the years and looked exceedingly well fed.
The two Fatty Kuis immediately pointed toward him.
"Fatty number three!"
The rat instantly looked offended.
Han Yu nearly laughed himself breathless watching the chaos unfold.
For the first time in many years...
He truly felt at peace.
Time passed quietly afterward.
Han Yu spent months within the Twin Leaf Peak Sect alongside his old companions. The dream he fought for so desperately had finally come true.
Everyone was safe.
The Blood Sect had fallen.
The continent was free.
And yet...
Something felt missing.
At first Han Yu could not understand it.
He possessed everything he once desired.
His friends were alive.
His enemies were gone.
He held status, strength, wealth, and respect.
The Twin Leaf Peak Sect even promoted him to High Elder despite his young age.
Yet deep inside...
A strange emptiness remained.
Eventually Han Yu spoke with his companions about it.
And slowly, he understood the truth.
For years his life had revolved around survival and revenge. Every step he took carried purpose. Every risk moved him closer toward saving everyone and escaping the Blood Sect.
Now that purpose was gone.
But somewhere along the way... Han Yu himself had changed too.
He was no longer merely a survivor.
He had become a true cultivator.
He desired strength.
Knowledge.
Truth.
He wanted to see the wider world beyond the limits of the Blood Continent.
And after witnessing Lin Mu’s power... Han Yu finally understood how small their world truly was.
Lin Mu remained within the Twin Leaf Peak Sect during this period as the most honored guest in the sect’s history. Even the Sect Master treated him with overwhelming reverence.
Then one quiet night, roughly a year after the fall of the Blood Sect, Lin Mu appeared within Han Yu’s courtyard.
The immortal stood beneath the moonlight calmly while Shrubby rested nearby lazily.
Han Yu looked up from his wine cup.
"Senior Lin?"
Lin Mu looked toward the night sky.
"Do you want to expand your horizons?" he asked suddenly.
Han Yu blinked in surprise.
"Me?"
"The world is far greater than you know," Lin Mu replied calmly. "And I have traveled through much of it."
Then he finally looked toward Han Yu directly.
"And yet..."
"I have never once encountered another Soul Cultivator."
Han Yu froze.
"You haven’t?" he asked in genuine shock.
Lin Mu shook his head.
"Indeed."
"As far as I know, your path is nearly mythical."
Silence filled the courtyard afterward.
The wind moved softly through the trees.
Then Lin Mu finally spoke again.
"Do you want to come with me?"
Han Yu stared blankly.
"To the Immortal Realm?" he asked slowly.
Lin Mu merely nodded.
Han Yu became silent for nearly a full minute.
He thought about everything that had happened.
The Blood Sect.
His companions.
His journey.
His growth.
And then...
A smile slowly appeared on his face.
"I do," Han Yu answered firmly.
Lin Mu nodded slightly.
And it was on that quiet night beneath the stars...
That Han Yu joined the man who would one day become known across countless worlds as the Walker of the Worlds.
