Chapter 319 - 253: The First Time in This Life

"My suitcase is a little heavy. Let me get it myself," Su Yue said.

’Come on, it’s just a suitcase. How heavy could it be? I’m a Second Order High Rank Cultivator now. Even if your suitcase weighed two or three hundred pounds, I could still lift it...’

"It’s fine, I can get it," Lin Li said, reaching out and grabbing Su Yue’s suitcase. He then easily placed both suitcases in the taxi’s trunk.

"Where to?" The driver, a man in his early fifties, asked succinctly once his two passengers were seated.

"The airport," Su Yue said.

The driver nodded, started the car, and began driving them toward the airport. After they’d gone a short distance, he started chatting with his passengers, a classic taxi driver trait.

"So, where are you two headed?"

"Are you traveling for business or for fun?"

"I’ve been to Qiong City, too, back when I was younger."

"Back then, the tourism industry in Qiong City wasn’t as booming as it is now..."

"I saw on the news a while back that a lot of restaurants in Qiong City will rip off tourists. You should be careful when you go!"

And so, with Lin Li and Su Yue chatting with the talkative driver, the time passed quickly.

"Have a safe trip! I hope you have a great time in Qiong City." The driver said, wishing them well as he dropped Lin Li and Su Yue off at the airport and drove away.

"That driver was a real character, huh?" Lin Li said to Su Yue, watching the taxi depart.

"Yeah... We should hurry inside. Boarding is in half an hour," Su Yue said, glancing at her watch.

Then, she grabbed her suitcase and walked briskly into the airport.

Seeing this, Lin Li quickly grabbed his own suitcase and followed her.

The plan had been to arrive an hour early, but plans never go as expected. They were stuck in traffic for half an hour, causing them to arrive thirty minutes late.

It was fine, though. Half an hour was still enough time to check their bags and go through security.

Lin Li, who didn’t particularly like traveling far from home, could count the number of times he’d been on a plane on one hand.

And those few times had been back on Earth; he hadn’t flown once since coming to the world of Blue Star.

The airport was crowded. Lin Li observed what people were wearing and noticed that a few were dressed for business trips, but the vast majority, like him and Su Yue, were heading out on vacation.

"Lin Li, what are you doing just standing there? Hurry up and bring your suitcase over to check it in!"

After checking her own bag, Su Yue turned to see Lin Li standing behind her, staring at the travelers coming and going in the distance. She rolled her eyes at him and shouted.

"Oh." Lin Li nodded and started checking his own luggage.

After they both checked their bags and got their boarding passes, they headed for the security checkpoint.

"BEEP."

"BEEP."

Once through security, they arrived at the departure lounge. At this point, there were only twenty minutes until takeoff.

Passengers for their flight were already lining up to board, so Lin Li and Su Yue hurried to the end of the line.

"Good thing we were only stuck in traffic for half an hour. Otherwise, we might have missed our flight," Su Yue said, turning to Lin Li, who was behind her in line.

"It wouldn’t have been a big deal if we missed it. We could have just gotten on the next flight," Lin Li said.

"We could get on the next flight, but wouldn’t we have to spend more money on new tickets?" Su Yue asked.

"It’s fine! It’s just a few hundred bucks," Lin Li said nonchalantly.

After all, he had several million in his bank account now. Spending a few hundred more on a plane ticket because of traffic was nothing to him.

"Look at you now... A few hundred bucks is nothing to you. Getting a big head, are we? Looks like you’ve earned quite a bit of money recently!" Su Yue said with a brilliant smile.

"..." Hearing her words, Lin Li muttered to himself inwardly, ’I did make a lot of money recently, but I’m not getting arrogant. Besides, the way I earn money isn’t what you’re thinking.’

Lin Li’s attempt to change the subject was successful. Su Yue looked ahead and saw that the passengers in front of her had already moved forward several meters, so she hurried to follow.

Guided by the flight attendants, the boarding passengers began to find their seats.

A pleasant voice came over the airplane’s announcement system, reminding all passengers to be seated as soon as possible.

"Lin Li, I like the window seat. Can we switch?" Su Yue asked after they found their seats and she realized hers was on the aisle.

"No." Lin Li also liked the window seat and immediately rejected her request.

Seeing that Lin Li wasn’t willing to switch, Su Yue grumbled, "I’m the one who bought the tickets, and you won’t even grant me this one small request? Seriously..."

"You may have bought the tickets, but it’s not like I didn’t pay you back," Lin Li said to Su Yue as he sat down in the window seat and fastened his seatbelt.

"Hurry up and sit down. The plane’s about to take off. You can have the window seat on the way back."

As far as Lin Li was concerned, this trip to Qiong City involved more than one flight. It was only fair for them each to get the window seat once.

"..." Seeing that Lin Li really wasn’t going to switch with her, Su Yue rolled her eyes at him and gave up on the idea.

Just as she was about to sit down, a man sitting in the row behind them stood up and said politely to Su Yue,

"Excuse me, miss. If you don’t mind, you can switch with me. You can have my window seat."

The man was in his early thirties, stylishly dressed in designer brands from head to toe.

He was an executive at a large company, on his way to Qiong City to meet a client.

He had been complaining about his boss for making him travel all the way to Qiong City on such short notice.

But after boarding, he saw that the girl in the seat in front of him was stunningly beautiful. His eyes lit up, and all his complaints about his boss vanished in an instant.

When he heard this beautiful girl having a small disagreement with the ordinary-looking young man who was presumably her boyfriend, he immediately felt his chance had come.

The young man, who prided himself on being a success, had poached his fair share of girlfriends in the past. Basically, whenever he made a move, he succeeded.
