I Can Hear Pokémon’s Thoughts

Chapter 350: Eevee: "Where Did All My Friends Go?"

Chapter 350: Eevee: "Where Did All My Friends Go?"

"Eevee, would you and your kin like to come with me? This marsh is a dangerous place filled with predators," Feng Che said softly, broadcasting his intent through the Power of Viridian to every Eevee in the cavern. "If you stay here, you'll remain vulnerable. I promise you a place with abundant food and safety where you can thrive."

The Eevee looked at one another. They knew the truth of his words; every year, many of their brothers and sisters were claimed by the bottomless mires or hunted by the fierce swamp predators. Because the Great Marsh lacked evolution stones, they remained in their basic forms, unable to defend themselves unless they possessed the rare talent to evolve into Espeon or Umbreon through sheer bond alone.

The colony chirped in unison, nodding their heads eagerly.

"Good. Mewtwo, I'll leave the transfer to you. Take the Eevee and their eggs back to the nursery," Feng Che requested.

With a sharp snap of Mewtwo's fingers, every Eevee in the cave—save for the "glutton" perched on Feng Che's shoulder—vanished in a flash of blue light. Even the berry trees were uprooted and transported.

Eevee: What happened?! Why are my friends all gone?!

"Don't panic," Feng Che soothed, stroking the trembling Eevee. "I used psychic power to move them to a safe new home. You'll see them soon."

Once the little one calmed down, Feng Che used his Appraisal skill.

Name: Eevee (Female)

Aptitude: Excellent (Deep Green)

Ability: Run Away

Level: 28

Moves: Astonish, Sand Attack, Tail Whip, Growl, Tackle, Take Down, Baton Pass, Crunch, Slash.

Status: Joyful.

Evaluation: Due to long-term exposure to the Green Leaf Orb, this Eevee's potential has skyrocketed. With a high-quality evolution stone, its aptitude could reach Epic levels.

Not bad at all, Feng Che thought. I'll keep her with me for a while. He stowed the Green Leaf Orb securely in his spatial bracelet, noting its ability to massively amplify Grass-type life energy.

An Unpleasant Encounter

As Feng Che prepared to leave, a man in a grey-and-black uniform stepped into the cave. It was Saturn, one of the three Commanders of Team Galactic.

"Strange," Saturn muttered, looking around the empty cave. "I saw a whole pack of Eevee run in here. Where did they go? You—hand over that Eevee on your shoulder and I might let you crawl away."

Saturn's blue hair twitched with irritation. When Feng Che didn't immediately comply, he tossed two Poké Balls. "I just caught these in the marsh. Let's see how they handle a brat like you. Go, Lickilicky and Skuntank!"

Lickilicky emerged, a round, pink behemoth with an absurdly long tongue dripping with paralytic saliva. Beside it, Skuntank growled, its white-striped purple fur bristling. It raised its tail, ready to spray its signature foul-smelling liquid—a stench known to linger for a week.

"Go, Sirfetch'd!"

Sirfetch'd lunged forward, raising its leek shield to intercept Skuntank's Night Slash. The impact sent the duck skidding back, but it recovered instantly. Meanwhile, Lickilicky's tongue lashed out toward Feng Che.

Swish!

Sirfetch'd hurled its leek stalk like a javelin, pinning Lickilicky's tongue directly to the cavern floor. The pink giant wailed in pain, rolling around as it tried to free its most sensitive organ.

"Useless!" Saturn hissed. "Skuntank, Sludge Bomb!"

"Sirfetch'd, Slash!"

The duck dodged a glob of toxic muck and reclaimed its leek. But Saturn had a dirtier trick. "Skuntank, Toxic Gas!"

A massive cloud of black, acrid smoke billowed from the Pokémon's tail.

"Ugh, that's foul!" Feng Che immediately erected a psychic barrier to filter the air. Poor Eevee wasn't as lucky; the sheer stench caused it to foam at the mouth and faint instantly.

Disgusted by the "biological warfare," Feng Che had no desire to continue the fight. He used Teleport and vanished, but not before snatching up the Lickilicky Saturn had just called "useless."

New Recruits and Old Friends

Reappearing a mile away, Feng Che healed the Lickilicky's tongue. "Your trainer abandoned you the moment things got tough. If you want a real home, come with me. If not, you're free to go."

Lickilicky didn't hesitate. It tapped the Poké Ball in Feng Che's hand, opting for a new life.

Name: Lickilicky (Male)

Aptitude: Excellent (Deep Green)

Ability: Cloud Nine (Negates weather effects)

Level: 48

Moves: Refresh, Power Whip, Belly Drum, Swords Dance, Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam.

Evaluation: Exceptional learning capacity and coverage. Its saliva has a 100% paralysis rate that defies standard medicine.

Saturn's loss is my gain, Feng Che smiled. With the Orb found and the Eevee safe, only one task remained in Sinnoh: Newmoon Island to find Darkrai.

Shadows Over the Sevii Islands

Meanwhile, at the Sevii Islands, Elite Four member Lorelei (Kanna) looked over the latest intelligence reports and dialed Lance (Wataru).

"Lance, the situation regarding President Damalanchi's operation has changed," Lorelei said, her face grim. "We have a new player on the board."
