Chapter 1677 Julie's Plan
Chapter 1677 Julie's Plan
Max calmly closed his eyes briefly while sensing the enormous amount of energy flowing throughout his meridians.
That energy was extremely pure.
After devouring Ray completely, Max could clearly feel his cultivation drawing even closer toward another breakthrough.
Several moments later, the flow of energy gradually stabilized.
Only after the final traces of Ray's body turned into dust did the devouring process completely end.
A faint smile slowly appeared across Max's face afterward.
"With this," he muttered softly, "I am truly very close to reaching the tenth level of the Law Awakening Realm."
Then Max calmly turned around and walked out of the underground chamber.
Soon afterward, he arrived back outside the prison area where Jonathan and Julie were already waiting for him silently.
The moment Jonathan saw Max emerge alone, he immediately understood the outcome.
"You dealt with him?" Jonathan asked quietly.
Max nodded calmly.
"He is gone."
Jonathan simply nodded after hearing that.
There was neither pity nor hesitation within his expression.
After everything Ray had attempted to do during the Smelting Trial, Jonathan no longer cared what happened to him anymore.
Meanwhile, Julie also remained completely silent.
Then Jonathan looked toward Max once again before asking seriously, "Now that we have agreed to join your secret force, how exactly are we supposed to contact you or the others afterward?"
"We cannot exactly move openly together without attracting attention."
Hearing that, Max remained thoughtful for a brief moment before speaking calmly.
"Extend your hand."
Jonathan looked slightly confused after hearing those words.
However, he still trusted Max enough by now not to question him further.
Soon afterward, Jonathan slowly extended his right hand toward Max.
The next instant, Max activated the Dimensional Sovereign Body silently.
Invisible dimensional power instantly gathered around his fingertips while strange spatial fluctuations spread faintly through the surroundings.
Then Max placed his finger lightly against Jonathan's palm.
A moment later, a mysterious rune slowly began forming upon Jonathan's hand.
The rune radiated faint silver-blue light while tiny dimensional patterns continuously shifted within it like living space laws.
After several seconds, the rune completely stabilized.
Only then did Max withdraw his hand calmly.
Jonathan immediately lowered his gaze toward the strange rune now engraved upon his palm.
His eyes filled with curiosity instantly.
"What exactly is this?" he asked while carefully observing the rune.
Max calmly explained afterward.
"This rune is an access point connected to a secret domain."
Jonathan and Julie's expressions changed slightly after hearing that.
"That secret domain," Max continued calmly, "is where the headquarters of my force currently exists."
Then Max looked directly toward both of them.
"If you wish to enter that place, simply imbue the rune with your Divine Essence."
"The rune will automatically create a portal leading directly into the secret domain."
Jonathan's eyes narrowed slightly while sensing the astonishing dimensional fluctuations hidden within the rune.
Clearly, this was no ordinary spatial technique.
Meanwhile, Max continued speaking.
"Come tonight."
His gaze gradually became serious afterward.
"At midnight, while everyone's attention is focused upon the banquet."
A faint smile slowly appeared across his face.
"That will be your first time entering the secret domain."
"How many members does your secret force currently have?" Julie asked curiously after hearing Max's explanation about the secret domain.
The moment she asked that question, Max's expression immediately became slightly awkward.
He coughed lightly before answering honestly.
"At the moment…" Max said while smiling helplessly, "you two are the only people I have personally recruited."
Jonathan and Julie both stared at him silently afterward.
Max continued explaining calmly.
"There is also a friend of mine managing certain matters inside the secret domain itself. So if we count everyone together, the entire force currently has only three members."
Julie immediately frowned slightly after hearing that.
"Only three?" she repeated while looking at Max strangely.
However, only a moment later, a thoughtful light suddenly flashed through her eyes.
"Actually…" Julie said slowly while smiling faintly, "I might already have a way to increase those numbers rapidly."
Max's interest immediately rose slightly.
"And how exactly do you plan to do that?" he asked curiously.
Julie calmly answered afterward.
"The Cosmic Ascension Conference."
The moment those words were spoken, Max immediately became thoughtful.
Meanwhile, Julie continued speaking confidently.
"Right now, although your name has already spread somewhat throughout the Divine Realm because of the Sovereign Sword, most people still do not truly understand how terrifying your strength and potential actually are."
Her eyes gradually brightened slightly afterward.
"But the Cosmic Ascension Conference is different."
"That place gathers geniuses from countless forces and worlds. If you can display overwhelming talent there and truly make a name for yourself during the conference, then many people will naturally become interested in following you."
Julie smiled faintly afterward.
"At that point, countless geniuses would willingly join a force created by someone like you."
Max slowly nodded after hearing her explanation.
"That actually sounds like a very good plan," he admitted honestly.
However, shortly afterward, his expression gradually became more serious.
"There is still one major problem though."
Jonathan and Julie both looked toward him curiously.
"I have no reliable way to determine who can truly be trusted," Max explained calmly.
His eyes narrowed slightly afterward.
"I invited the two of you because I know neither of you would betray me."
"But random people are different."
"If I begin recruiting large numbers of geniuses later, there is no guarantee some of them will not secretly carry their own motives."
At that moment, Julie suddenly laughed softly.
"You really do not need to worry too much about that issue," she said calmly.
A faintly dangerous smile slowly appeared across her face afterward.
"With my poison abilities, I can place a hidden deadly poison mark on every person who joins the force."
Jonathan's expression changed slightly after hearing that.
Meanwhile, Julie calmly continued.
"The poison would remain dormant normally, so it would not affect them at all."
"However, the moment someone attempts betrayal…"
A faint crimson poisonous flame flickered briefly within Julie's eyes.
"The poison would immediately activate and kill them."
