" My lord, was that really a wise decision handing such a position of power to those two back then." It seemed she really couldn't take it anymore and decided to speak up on their walk back home.

Su Ping let out a breath as if he'd seen this coming a mile away, nevertheless, he wasn't mad at the Wolf King. " Whether they are capable is still left to be seen. My actions only served to give them a point to focus their attention on."

" You mean?"

" An idle mind is nothing but a devils workshop, rather than leaving them to their own devices, I simply kept them occupied for the time being."

" But still... My lord."

" Yu An, you can't simply do everything all on your own no matter how much you might want to. Like you told me, it wouldn't hurt to let others help out every once in awhile."

" If you're that worried about them, then should I simply destroy both viscounty's on my own and end this farce of a war?" Su Ping said outright, causing her expression to take a drastic turn, filled with anxiousness.

" Of course not my lord, please forgive my unneeded words, I was merely worried is all." She paused, shaking her head quickly as if afraid something else would happen if she was but a second slower.

Su Ping chuckled, before smiling lightly. " Of course you were, you are my loyal aid after all, but besides all that." He paused for a moment, his right hand reaching out to clasp her cheek.

Feeling her natural warmth that only continued to increase as a blush spread across her features, Su Ping could only struggle to hold back a chuckle. " You are one of my beloved now, whether I like it or not, I can't take back my words from that day, so perhaps you might want to tone down on the jealousy, just a bit."

" I can't have you scarring away all my other subordinates, no matter how attractive they might seem, alright?"

Yu An turned silent, her features conflicted, but under his ever present gaze, she eventually let out a defeated sigh. " As you wish my lord." She mumbled with a bit of reluctance.

" That's far much better." Su Ping nodded his before glancing ahead. " Now come with me, We best head home before the others begin to worry. I wouldn't want anyone concocting any unnecessary thoughts because of us, alright." He said before continuing on his way home.

" Yes my lord." Yu An said right after, together they continued on their way home, but in between, Yu An couldn't help but glance back in the direction of the bar, a troubled look on her face as if her senses had picked up on something disadvantageous.

Nevertheless, she had no way of knowing what it was so she simply followed after her lord.

" Did I make you wait too long." Su Ping hugged Melinda who was seated atop the parlour couch from behind upon arriving home.

" Not at all Darling." She said with a warm smile before kissing her beloved on the cheek, her actions further fueling the ever burning flame in his heart.

" Welcome back." Alas, that moment was ruined the moment he heard a voice out of the blue, it wasn't that he hadn't noticed someone approaching, but more like he didn't want to, after all, this person was the one responsible for his abrupt departure this morning.

" Yes?" Su Pings squinted eyes slowly peeled a silver to reveal a pair of purple black eyes that gazed silently at Emilia.

Facing his cold yet calm stare, she bit her lower lip, her expression looking a bit dismayed.

" Darling...." It was at that instant that a certain someone was forced to speak up.

" Yes...." Su Ping replied, his voice sounding more like a groan if anything else.

" I believe Emilia has something she'd like to say to you, at least try to hear her out first." She turned to glance at him who stood over her from behind the couch.

Lily and Yu An had long since retreated to their rooms, and the children were already fast asleep, meaning that the only ones present were the three of them.

" Out with it..." He replied coldly, more so to the vampire heiress than to anyone else.

Emilia pursed her lips as if not expecting to be treated so nonchalantly, but sensing his growing displeasure, she decided to speak.

" I'm sorry for my behaviour this morning. I didn't mean to act in such a way towards you, my lord, please find it in your heart to forgive me–"

" Sorry?" A sudden chill suffused the entire room. Both Melinda and Emilia were forced to shiver in terror as an unexpected sinister aura permeated the place.

" Darling–!" Melinda tried speaking up but her eyes widened when she realised a mass of darkness had blocked her mouth, while she didn't feel any harm from it, the chill from it still had her heart beating rapidly, but she forced herself to calm down before getting up.

The reason being that Su Ping had already arrived before the Vampire heiress, his gaze filled with far more coldness than she could've ever expected.

Melinda who was about to reach him was stunned once more when several dark tendrils wrapped around her to hold her in place.

' No! He's completely lost it~!' she panicked, in a desperate attempt to break free, she summoned the dark flames she'd grown accustomed to.

" If you move one step from there, I'll make sure to kill her where she stands." It was at that moment that she felt a blizzard like chill overwhelm her.

Her eyes stared in disbelief at Su Ping who was gazing towards her with those cold eyes of his.

" Tch!" To think she'd click her tongue in displeasure rather than obey, the flames around her didn't diminish but instead grew far more.

" Stop now or it'll only get worse!" While exhausted from exerting herself like this, She still spoke up through laboured breath.
